How Therapy Works
Therapy is a safe and confidential space, in which we build a collaborative environment for self exploration and developing strategies to help you overcome the challenges, that can make your everyday life difficult.
Therapy can come in many different forms. I use a combination of different techniques based on Hypnotherapy and Counselling skills, among others.
Whatever problems you are having, we will work together to find the approaches that could benefit you most, to explore and manage your difficulties and achieve your goals.
Some common questions about therapy…
In our first sessions you will share with me some of your background and the issues or reasons which have lead you to seek counselling or therapy, without judgement or criticism. You will also get a good idea of how working together will be.
As we move forward we will observe, reflect, and deepen our understanding, at whatever pace is right for you, discovering how your thoughts affect you on a practical, physical and emotional level.
The length of time that therapy takes will depend on the issues at hand. This can be anything from single session or a short course of sessions, or can continue over a longer course depending on your needs.
In our initial conversation, we will discuss your needs to find out what will suit you best. We will then regularly review our work together to understand whether you are getting what you need from therapy..
Therapy can take place face to face in my thearpy space in Hereford, over the phone, or through online video platforms. We will discuss what suits you best in our initial conversation.
During Covid-19, sessions are limited to over the phone, or through online video platforms.
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, but should you need to cancel or reschedule, just give me 48 hours’ notice. This enables me to give someone on the waiting list an appointment.
Initial Consultation - 30 Minutes - Free
In our initial conversation we will begin to plan a way forward, establish the frequency of sessions, book a slot, and discuss expectations about the length (and outcome) of therapy.
General Therapy Session - 50 Minutes - £52
After your initial consultation we will schedule your first session. Sessions are usually held weekly and will last for fifty minutes.
I also offer concessions for Students (over 18 years old) and NHS and Care workers. Please ask for more information.
